New cases are best, but let's face it, they're expensive!! There are plenty of rebuild able engine cases out there at the swap meets or the local pick-n-pull but you need to know what to look for or you could get taken. I'm not saying that everyone out there selling a used case is dishonest, I'm just saying that they may not know that the case they're selling is junk to begin with. I got taken by a guy who who bold-faced lied to me about a case. Because of my own ignorance, I lost some $$$ in the deal and only gained an expensive door-stop :-( I don't want this to happen to you.
